About this figure

A red-team engagement is a controlled process, not an open-ended exercise. It begins with explicit authorization and scope, then maps the target, defines scenarios, and executes only within agreed controls. Findings are validated through reproduction and challenge, with evidence captured at each step so reports are defensible and actionable. Throughout the engagement, safety and decision controls stay visible: customer approval governs consequential actions, sensitive data and tenant boundaries remain explicit, and stop conditions with escalation paths are always available. The result is a disciplined handoff that supports clear reporting without crossing operational or ethical boundaries.
